65+ habits
The (in)complete list
July 14, 2022 – 52 65+ Habits
Wait, what?! Why are there over 65 habits on the list? Isn’t this just a 52-week program? Yes, yes, but I just can’t commit to all of them right now. I may even add more habits to the list as I think of them. I purposefully haven’t scheduled them week by week either, because I reserve the right to choose which habit to adopt based on my level of confidence that particular week.
For inspiration on this list, I have been watching a lot of the Minimal Mom, and the Secret Slob, who uses a modified version of the Fly Lady cleaning system. There aren’t that many financial habits, but I do aspire to follow Dave Ramsey’s 7 Baby Steps. For weight loss, I’m a total nerd about tracking the data.
Most of the habits are daily, some are weekly, and only one is monthly (which doesn’t really seem like a “habit” if you only do it once a month, does it?). I have generally steered away from specific time limits for items, as I don’t want to get stuck timing everything I do, and I figure even a minute of meditation or picking up one thing counts as effort, and will be better than nothing. When I first made the list, I had a lot of “fifteen minutes” scheduled per item, to the point where it would take me a few hours every day to get through everything by the end of the year. That – I know – is not realistic for me. On the flip side, if I get caught up in something, I can spend as much time as I want doing it! We’ll see how priorities settle as the challenge progresses. This effort needs tons of flexibility built into it to make it both fun and achievable!
By the way, this is a no-judgements-allowed list! We all have our flaws. Mine just happen to be some things that I’d rather people didn’t know about me.
