Week one complete!
86% success rate - yay!
July 17, 2022 – End of Week 1
Alright, so far so good! Made it through week one, missing just one day of working on the blog. I wrote for five of those days, and on the sixth day, I started setting up the website and working on some technical aspects of the blog. I purchased a domain name and a hosting package, told my husband and sister about the project, and set up a habit tracker and started tracking habits. Even though right now it’s just the one habit, I’m a total spreadsheet nerd, so I love to go track it each day. It’s a pretty simple spreadsheet:
There are 52 rows for habits and 364 (7 x 52) columns for dates, all of which are not shown because that would be one crazy big image full of mostly nothing to look at. Just picture the above, but somewhat taller, and a buncha lot wider.
To track habits, all I have to do is put a 1 in for every day that I accomplish a task, a 0 for every day that I was supposed to do something but didn’t, and leave it blank for any days that I was neither supposed to nor actually did complete a habit. The spreadsheet tracks the percent done for each habit individually, and also tallies up all the habits to give an overall percentage of completion. That’s how I’ll know if I succeeded in my 70% goal or not.
You see above that this week, I’m at an 86% rate for the first week. I thought I’d be a shoe-in for 100% this week, since I’m so gung-ho about this at the beginning, but I let Saturday slide. I’m not making excuses, but I got my 2nd Covid booster on Friday, then went hiking with my family Saturday afternoon, and the combination wore me out! I’m okay with that though. It makes the spreadsheet look more interesting, right?
You might also notice in the spreadsheet, that I’ve picked out my task for week two already: run the dishwasher every night. But I’ll tell you more about that tomorrow!
